An EINS — étude d'impact des nuisances sonores — is a technical study of the noise impact associated with the diffusion of amplified sound in a place, together with the measures proposed to limit that impact. It is a study, not a certificate or a permit.

Not every wedding venue automatically requires one. Applicability depends on the characteristics and operation of the venue, including the nature, level and frequency of amplified sound and how the place receives the public. A professional assessment should be carried out to determine what applies to your property.

No. No study can guarantee the absence of complaints, enforcement or restrictions. What an EINS can do is evaluate impact, identify the dominant contributions and recommend measures — helping the venue reduce avoidable risk and demonstrate how it manages sound.

Ideally before a venue opens, before significant works, or before a material change to the sound system or event operation. It can also be carried out for an established venue at any point, particularly where concerns have been raised.

Yes. For an operating venue the study is based on how the venue actually runs, including measurements made under representative conditions.

You receive a prioritised set of recommendations distinguishing essential measures from those that are recommended or purely optimisation, so that spending can be sequenced sensibly. Measures may involve the building, the sound system, or how events are operated.

Yes. Terraces, courtyards, lawns, poolside areas and outdoor dance floors are among the most common subjects of assessment, because they have little or no acoustic envelope.

Yes. Châteaux, barns, cellars, orangeries and converted farm buildings are a core part of our work. Recommendations are tailored to what can realistically and appropriately be done to the building.

Yes. Most wedding venues operate several spaces across a single day, sometimes simultaneously, and the interaction between them is usually central to the assessment.

Yes. Sound design can be carried out alongside an audit or EINS, so that system positions, coverage and levels are developed together with the acoustic constraints rather than after them.

Yes. Where complaints have been received we can assess the situation objectively, measure what is happening and recommend proportionate measures. We provide technical support; we do not act as legal advisers.

It depends on the size of the venue, the number of spaces and the measurements required. As a general pattern, site work is completed in one or more visits — often including a live event — followed by analysis and reporting. We give an indicative timescale once we understand the venue.

Fees depend on the venue: number and type of event spaces, indoor and outdoor use, the complexity of the surroundings and the measurement programme required. We provide a fixed proposal after an initial consultation rather than a generic price.
