A venue's acoustic strategy only works if the equipment on the ground matches it. We design and install sound systems and noise limiters specifically for wedding venues — then stay involved, season after season, so the setup that was agreed is the setup that is actually used.

(a) Sound systems

Sound system installation, designed for the venue

Most wedding venues were never designed as listening spaces. Stone rooms, glass orangeries, barns and courtyards each behave differently — and a system chosen for a rental catalogue rarely suits any of them. We specify and install systems around the venue itself: loudspeaker type, placement, zoning and control, all derived from how the building and the estate actually transmit sound.

The result is a discreet installation that delivers clear speech and full-range music where guests are, while directing less energy towards boundaries, windows and neighbours. DJs and bands plug into a house system that is already tuned to the space — instead of improvising against it.

(b) Noise limiters

The noise limiter is where most venues go wrong.

A limiter measures sound pressure in the room and acts on the audio signal when a set ceiling is exceeded. Venues in France operating under a préfectoral authorisation or following an EINS are commonly required to fit one — and to keep it set to the levels the venue has committed to.

Set crudely, it strangles the party and frustrates every DJ who visits. Set properly — from measured levels, room behaviour and the venue's operating model — it becomes almost invisible: the evening runs at full energy, and the venue holds the levels it has committed to.

What a limiter does

It measures sound pressure in the room and acts on the audio signal — attenuating or cutting it — when a set ceiling is exceeded. The ceiling is a level in dB, tied to what the venue is permitted to produce, not a volume the team can turn up.

Why the settings decide everything

Two identical limiters in two identical rooms can behave completely differently. The threshold, the measurement position, the attack time and the response — hard cut or smooth compression — are what separate a limiter that ruins a night from one nobody notices.

Measurement, not guesswork

Every threshold we set comes from a measured level: the room's real gain, the system's real output, the boundary's real exposure. A round-number threshold set by ear is the most common reason a limiter gets blamed for a bad evening.

Measurement baseline

A sound-level survey of the venue with the system at typical operating level, so the limiter threshold is set against the room's real behaviour — not a figure from a catalogue.

Threshold derivation

The ceiling is derived from the venue's committed limits, the measured room gain and the headroom an event needs to feel full. The result is a specific number with a specific reason.

Selection & wiring

The right limiter for the system — hard cut, compressor/attenuator or staged response — integrated into the signal path so visiting DJs and bands connect through it by default.

On-site calibration

Threshold, measurement-microphone position, attack and release verified on site with class-1 instrumentation and logged against the system's measured response.

Team handover & records

Settings documented for the venue's records, the operation explained to the team, and a written note of what the limiter does and does not guarantee.

Please note

A correctly configured limiter helps a venue operate within the levels it has committed to. It does not, on its own, guarantee the absence of complaints or regulatory approval; that depends on the wider acoustic strategy, the system, the building and how events are run.

(c) Year-round

Annual management of your sound setup

Equipment drifts, rooms change, teams change. Under an annual management arrangement we remain responsible for the performance of the installation across the season — so the venue can evidence consistent, controlled operation rather than a one-off commissioning visit.

Pre-season check

Full inspection, re-tuning and limiter verification before the first events of the year, so the season starts from a known baseline.

Scheduled recalibration

Limiter thresholds and system tuning re-verified with calibrated instrumentation at agreed intervals through the season.

Event-day support

Remote or on-call support for the venue team when a visiting DJ, band or production raises a question about levels or connections.

Incident response

If a complaint or concern arises, we investigate with measurements and provide a documented technical account of what happened.

Records & reporting

A maintained record of settings, calibrations and checks — a useful body of evidence for insurers, authorities and due diligence.

Planned upgrades

Advice on when to repair, replace or extend the system, so investment is planned rather than emergency-driven.

(d) One responsible party

Design, equipment and management under one roof

When the study, the system, the limiter and the ongoing management come from the same specialist, nothing is lost between them. The levels assumed in the EINS are the levels the limiter enforces, the system is tuned to the rooms the study measured, and the annual checks verify the whole chain — not just one part of it.
